Installing the Lommy Blue using the enclosed cable

The white wire must be connected to the "+" terminal of the battery (e.g. in your car). The fuse and the fuse holder must be mounted on the white wire as close to the battery as possible.

Mounting the fuse and its holder on the white wire

The fuse protects the power source (i.e. the car battery) against overload, and therefore must be mounted. All necessary parts will be in the SkyEye sales package.

Suitable placing of Lommy Blue

To ensure the best function of your Lommy Blue, it is important that it is installed and placed in a suitable way. Your Lommy Blue is a small high tech unit. The internal electronics is based on modules using antennas.

Avoid hiding the Lommy under material which will influence the GPS-reception:

  • Steel
  • Aluminium
  • Wind screens with metallic sun protection

Most other materials will not influence the GPS-reception. You can easily hide your Lommy under materials such as:

  • Fabric material
  • Ordinary glass
  • Glass fibre
  • Wood
  • Plastic material

Your status page on skyeye.eu will show you how good the momentary GPS-reception for your Lommy Blue. The signal strength will vary during the day, but if the signal level is constantly low, it could be necessary to relocate your Lommy Blue, and find a place where the signal is better.

There are lots of suitable places in your car where you can place the Lommy Blue

  • On top of the glove compartment
  • Under the top of the dashboard.
  • In the console between the front seats.
  • In the top of the back of the rear seats.
  • Just under the shelf by the rear window. (Only if it is not made of metal).

If you own a motorcycle, moped, caravan or boat, you can normally mount your Lommy Blue anywhere, as these vehicles are normally not made of steel. Do not expose your Lommy to humidity, rain or direct contact to water or fluids. Please pay special attention to this when installing your Lommy Blue. If you want to use your Lommy Blue in an outboard engine or in a similar wet area, you can buy a water proof box as an accessory.
